• 1.) Consider to choose the licensed tour companies and birding guides that authorized by the government agency and also have an actual address of their office. Do not buy a tour from a person who runs the tour by himself without officially registered company. Because of you cannot be sure of money transferring, tour abandon, and especially when something go wrong the police is unable to track him down. 
• 2.) Consider money transferring system, is it trustworthy?
• 3.) Consider former clients’ satisfactions and feedbacks by reading their trip reports or trip reviews, or other sources such as their Facebook or Birding blogs etc.
• 4.) Consider the tour price; is it fair or reasonable?, is the price meet the service quality and service ethic? Do not buy the tour just because it is the cheapest or the most expensive tour package, but choose from their company reputation and what clients said about them.
• 5.) Consider type and condition of vehicles that they used in the tour. Some companies use the old car or older model and lack of maintenance, it might breakdown during the tour. It’d better of having a driver or another staff to support the guide, which will facilitate the tour to run smoother. There is nothing wrong about letting the guide drives a car by himself. However, birding tour takes up a lot of energy by walking for a whole day. Thus, the guide will be exhausted by the end of the day. If he also has to drive for you until the end of the tour, it possibly poses a high risk of accident from falling asleep behind the wheel.
